2008 WSOP Details Announced
October 29, 2007
Harrahs have announced details of the 39th Annual World Series of Poker, which will be held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino from the 30th or May to 17th of July 2008. No word as yet on the schedule of events, which this year featured a bigger variety of non hold’em events.”The team is still hard at work on the schedule of events for next year, but we’ve received so many requests for the dates that we decided to announce them now,” said Jeffrey Pollack, WSOP Commissioner.
Once again the WSOP is marginally longer than its previous outing, though there is no word yet as to whether the number of events will increase or if the schedule will just be easier on the players. Last year total of 55 bracelet events were played and 6,358 players registered for the $10,000 main event. If the World Series of Poker Europe is anything to go by, the 2008 WSOP is only going to get bigger!
