Party Poker Review

Summary:

Partypoker.com has one of the world’s highest poker online traffic in both ring games and tournaments (it has dropped a lot since they pulled out of the US). This means you will always find a table available at your skill and money level. It has a great range of bonuses and promotions so why not give it a try!

Gameplay:

Gameplay is good, with tables that are easy to join and a range of controls that are simple to master. The software is extremely good with no glitches or bugs. You can play upto 3 tables simultaneously, see the average pot size of the last 20 hands and see your personal playing statistics and notes. Taking notes about players means you can keep an eye on regular opponents and monitor their gameplay. The only downside is that the flop percentages and hands per hour rate are not presented, but this protects the looser games. If you’re new, it’s very easy to sit down and play a free online poker hand to learn poker or just see what all the excitement is about!

Game Choices -

A solid selection of the basic games like online Texas Holdem, Omaha and 7-Card-Stud in both High & Hi-Lo are available and they make for good playing. But if you’re looking for Heads Up games, draw poker and a whole host of other games then Party Poker is not the place. But you will always find some great games to sit in on at any time, even during off-peak hours - they are that big even without the US players. Limits in holdem range from $.50/$1 - $30/$60 and no limit and pot limit range from $25 - $100 buyins.

Soft Competition -

Luckily with such a high traffic flow, Party Poker has a steady influx of new ring game players which is going to assure you some very soft games. You’ll find some great action, at “middle limit online games”. Whether you are a beginner who wants to just get their feet wet, or the seasoned player looking for some beginners… this is the place for you!

You can deposit easily with VISA, MasterCard, NETeller, FirePay, Western Union, Citadel, eChecks (by iGM-Pay), bank draft, cashier’s check, money order, or by check. However they have now started charging for deposits and withdrawals - and also for dormant accounts, so as a result of this we have had to mark them down considerably in this respect.

Software Look and Feel:

The lobby and table selection is easy to navigate around and use and therefore means you can be playing very quickly. The graphics are pretty good, as are the sounds, and the player functions are simple to use. Party Poker games are easy to play (even for the beginner since they include comprehensive game rules) and fun for all.

The rake is not too attractive at Party Poker (it highly disfavors the low limit games) but the higher limit games have a much lower rake. Here’s the breakdown; rake can run as high as 10% in $0.50/$1 and $1/$2 games (since 50 cent is raked when the pot reaches $5). Tournaments are the same but you get a good value with the higher stakes (20% fee in $5 games and 8% fee in $100 games).

Party Poker have a reasonable level of support, with good email response times and a good level of phone support, but they could certainly work on their speediness. Considering their size, a decent online poker room experience!
